Mark Prescott passed away suddenly in his 72nd year. He was predeceased by his parents John and Doris, and by his brother Colin.
Mark was father to Andrew (Meghan), David (Dana), and Alison (Ted), and grandad to Samuel, Isaac, Jonah, and Nathan. He was also predeceased by his partner of ten years, Cheryl Smith, in 2020.
Born in Salford, Manchester, Mark came to Canada in 1979, never losing his thick working‑class Manchester accent. A lifelong football fan, he was a talented goalkeeper well into his seventh decade—often showing up his kids—and especially enjoyed playing with the Burlington Old Timers Soccer Club. He was a dedicated Manchester United supporter and loved watching English World Cup football at every opportunity.
Mark worked in gravure printing after apprenticing in England and spent the majority of his career in that field.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Mulauli FC Academy in Zambia, helping inspire future generations to fall in love with “The Beautiful Game,” or to a charity of your choice.
