It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our father, John “Jack” Thomas Anthony Kearns. Jack, a loving father and devoted grandfather, passed away peacefully in his 88th year on May 1st, 2026, surrounded by his family at the Carpenter Hospice in Burlington.
He is survived by his wife Deirdre, his children Catherine (the late Patrick McManus), Gillian, and Trevor, and Grandchildren Lillian and Mark. he was the backbone of our family and our ultimate role model. He taught us the importance of family, and always showing up for those you love. He was a kind soul, a quiet leader, and the best dad and grandad we could have asked for. Though we will miss him dearly, we find comfort in his peace.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Dodsworth & Brown Funeral Home, 2241 New St, Burlington, on Friday, May 8, 2026, 7pm-9pm, with shared memories beginning at 7:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memoriam to the Carpenter Hospice.
