Born in Manchester in 1943, John emigrated to Canada in the 1970’s, settling in Burlington where he continued his career as a design draftsman and created a wonderful life for his young family. John was an avid do-it-yourselfer, and always eager to help his children or grandchildren to macgyver a repair or to build the latest toy. He was a military history buff and an aviation enthusiast. John loved to travel, with many overseas trips and cruises taken with Elspeth in his retirement years, and was the go-to trip planner for family and friends. John treasured his time with Elspeth at the cottage in McKellar Ontario, always working on its upkeep for the enjoyment of his family, and in downtime enjoyed a boat ride to the ice cream store, a beer on the dock, and watching his grandchildren play. Cremation has taken place and details regarding a celebration of his life are forthcoming. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to dementia research and support through the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
