Donations to St John's Ambulance and Burlington Food Bank

Dear Club Member,

I hope you and your families all had a very Merry Christmas Holiday and are looking forward to 2019.

In keeping with our Club’s community spirit, this year through our Rowley Bowl Tournament, we were able to donate $2655 to the local Salvation Army Food Bank, a record amount for the 20 plus years staging this event. A big thank you to all those who participated and a special thank you to John Harwood (Who picked up the reigns from Rowley) and his team of Bryan Clarke, John Guilfoyle, Tony Bell, Peter Whittle plus sponsors who made it such a huge success.

As in previous years we donated $4000 to St. John Ambulance Brigade in appreciation of their attendance at our games. We all know coverage at this year’s games was not up to their usual standard. This was due to staffing issues (lack of volunteers) but I have been assured they will strive to make sure we have adequate volunteers for our upcoming season.

The 2 pictures show John Harwood and myself presenting our cheque at the food bank and our very own Phil Williams receiving the St. John donation. (Phil is the local President of St. John Ambulance Brigade)

2019 will be the Club’s 35th anniversary so please keep an eye on our website for special dates and events.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any suggestions or comments regarding your Club.

All the very best for 2019.
